BIOGRAPHY
HANDFUL OF DUST FORMERLY KNOW AS "AN HANDFUL OF DUST" IS AN ITALIAN METAL BAND FROM TARCENTO, UDINE
Born in 2000 with the intention of mixing thrash\death metal aggressiveness with melodies typical of progressive and melodic metal, the sound of the band evolved into a more modern and alternative way, injecting new influences into it trying to emphasize the melodic impact of emotional parts and the aggressiveness of heavy parts.
The first period of the band is well represented by the first self-produced CD: "I'll Show You My Fear" (out in late 2007). After the inevitable step of playing outside regional borders to promote "I'll Show You My Fear", the band needed to push promotion to an highest level. Some reviews of the cd are also available in webzines and magazines, along with an interview. In the meantime the band got in touch with Alkemist Fanatix and are now proudly part of their roster.
In the last period "Handful of Dust" continued writing new material, putting togheter the songs for the new album that will be published throught RisingWorks. Album has been recorded at Zenith Studios in Lucca during February 2010, produced and mixed by Frank Andiver (Wonderland, Labyrint) and mastered at Finnvox by Mika Jussila (Nightwish, Sonata Arctica, Sentenced, Moonspell). "Nu Emotional Injection" was published in January 2011.In the meantime the band changed lineup and welcomed new guitarist Stefano.
After four years the band changed two guitarist and find in Nicolas Pezzetta and Giovanni Valente the perfect blend for the band. In 2014 the band released a new mini-cd "Map of Scars". This album it's a natural step in "Handful of Dust" evolution, more melodies and more groovy riff. "Map of scars" was proudly support by many live shows in order to give a right promotion to the new material. In this year 2018 "Handful of Dust" changed another time and welcomed a new guitarist Stefano D'amore former Overtures and Evil Monkey guitarist.
After this the new band will going to release "Cosmopolis" the third album. Recorded at Zolfo Studios by Gabriele Gritti studio engineer from Rhapsody and Mixed and Mastered by Jacob Hansen is a step forward from the band music exploration. Eleven killing tracks from epic to death wisplash riffs, melodic intro and much more. Despite a great loss in the band the band is ready to share new songs to many people as possible. This is for the memory of the founder member and bass player Gianluca Gobbi. His dedication and work doesn't go to be waste.

- Alberto Centenari
